Austin, Texas Birth Photography | William "Miller" Falkenhagen

William Miller Falkenhagen, aka Miller, aka Brother was so excited to join his wonderful family, he surprised everyone (including the doctors) by making a very quick entrance to the world on May 11th, 2015. He weighed in at 8lb 7oz of absolute preciousness. Big sister was smitten (along with the rest of the family, of course) and I loved getting to capture their first few hours together.

Here's what his Mama had to say about the experience...

"There are certain events in your life that are so monumental, so beautiful, and so powerful they change you forever. The day your child is born is certainly at the top of the list.  But, oddly enough, I remember almost nothing of the birth of my first child. I was too busy laboring- enduring a 27 hour labor and then recovering from the adrenaline rush- to actually take it all in. Which is why I am so grateful Mallorie was there to document the first hours of my second child’s life.  Mallorie captured all of the most amazing moments of our immediate postpartum period with precision and grace (Baby boy came much faster than anyone anticipated that morning, and unfortunately we didn’t tell Mallorie to get to the hospital in enough time for her to capture the actual birth—but she was there immediately afterwards). Mallorie’s energy is lovely—she faded into the background while our families came to meet the baby, while I learned to breastfeed again, and while our daughter met her baby brother. Then, she came to our home a couple weeks later for a viewing. She delivered a photo montage that is so beautiful and artful it moves me to tears again and again. Having Mallorie capture the birth of your child is a gift I would tell any mother to give herself. It’s also an incredible gift for our child—he will get to see how much love and joy was present the day he was born.  Thank you Mallorie—through your talented work I can see how beautiful the entire day was." ≫≫ Graceann Falkenhagen, Austin, Texas.
