One of the things I was most excited about (other than the gorgeous views) when we made our decision to make this move to Alaska, was the idea of having the freshest of the fresh when it came to fish. Since I'm a pescatarian, fish is one of my main sources of protein, and Dave and I have always searched for wild caught Alaskan fish when we bought some from the grocery store.
Being here, we can buy our fish knowing that it was just caught and without it being packaged and frozen I know we're not eating any of the preservatives and added colors. I know living in Alaska is going to spoil me on fish and it will never be the same.
Dave and I bought our first salmon the other day and it turned out so well the way he prepared it, I wanted to share.
Salmon
Lemon pepper
Extra virgin olive oil
Garlic Salt
Sprinkle the spices on the salmon.
Rub the salmon with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil.
Slice however you'd like and bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes. We served our salmon with a delicious salad of spinach, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, avocado, lemon pepper, and blue cheese dressing.
What about you guys, do you all enjoy salmon as much as we do? What's your favorite way to prepare it?
