Wedding on Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska by Mallorie Owens Photography

Last summer, I had the honor of photographing the Young's wedding in Juneau, Alaska! We had just moved back from Juneau to Austin and another client referred this couple to me because she knew I was familiar with Alaska. A few months later I was flying out with my Dad (aka the best assistant around), 6+ months pregnant, from Kansas to Alaska. Dream come true!

We started their day walking Montana Creek Trail for some gorgeous portraits, then we headed back to their B&B to get their stuff, headed to the heli pad to catch our ride to the glacier, and we were off! We got SO lucky that day with 70 degree temps and a perfect sunny day. If you know Juneau, you know this is RARE! And it had been raining for weeks before we got there. It was so beautiful seeing Juneau from up above and then being on top of the glacier was something I'll never forget. Coolest wedding location ever!

We then headed back to Pearson's Pond B&B for cake and champagne. They were so sweet and shared their delicious cake with us. Pretty sure my couples are the best around...

Kansas City Sunset Maternity Session | Coté Family

Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing. There is something so magical about this in-between period of life, waiting on baby and watching your body do unbelievable things. I'm in awe of the human body and what it's capable of during this time. Personally, I've never felt more at peace or comfortable in my own skin than I have since I've been pregnant.

My pregnancy "twin", Casey, (baby girl due a week after ours and just moved across the country) is radiant and I'm so excited to share her maternity photos! Maternity photos have my heart and this session has taken the place as my current favorite. 💚 That light, that bump, and that gorgeous flowing dress...as a photographer, I couldn't ask for more.

"Mallorie photographed our maternity session a few weeks ago and totally blew my mind with every single frame! From the incredible lighting she captured to the way she powered through a very hot (over 100 degrees) and windy outdoor afternoon session was nothing short of true talent and professionalism. Not to mention, she's such a sweetheart and makes you feel so comfortable during your time in front of the lens. I cannot get over the images we have as keepsakes during this special time of life (I cried through the whole slideshow--so in love!) and would highly recommend hiring Mallorie to shoot maternity photos and beyond! It was so hard for me to narrow these photos down for this post, I could go on and on. And don't even ask me to pick a favorite, I love them all!
